Tours:

As a part of your registration, you will be asked to sign up for a tour. Please review the options below so you can make your selection. Note: Tours are on a first come, first serve basis. If a tour is already full, you will be contacted to select another option.

Tour 1- Urban Agriculture

The Orlando area offers a unique and refreshing opportunity to see agricultural production at its best. You will see a small scale, organic farm, producing high quality produce for the local community in an environmentally sustainable fashion. Next stop will be a traditional farm located on the fringe of urban sprawl that also engages in many agritourism events and we will enjoy lunch in their café. They also have a country store with locally produced items. Next, we will visit a hydroponics production located inside the Orange County Convention Center. The produce is sold and used by the chef at the convention center, it doesn’t get any fresher than that!

Tour 2- Florida Agriculture & Community Food Systems

Florida boasts a wide variety of agricultural products that span much further than the well-known citrus industry. This tour will provide a glimpse into this diversity of crops and products while also providing insight into nonformal community-based agricultural education. A few highlights will include a community engagement effort in local food systems, a neighborhood market with some of Central Florida’s top food entrepreneurs, and floriculture. This tour will be marked by highlighting the diversity and economic value of Florida’s agriculture and community food systems.

Tour 3- Make My Own Tour

Note: This tour means you will be scheduling your own tour and not participating in a conference planned tour.
